Re: 30 gal for my beta?
My favourite cories are: Pepper, Sterbai, Smudge Spot and Skunk. I think they all thrive at slightly different parameters but they are all really lovely. Ooo! So are Adolphus. Even though they may be too small, Habrosus and Pygmeaous (I apologise profusely for my appalling Latin spelling) are adorab...

Re: 30 gal for my beta?
I wouldn't keep a Betta with any other fish at all. Some people manage it- but that's all it is, managing. They will get stressed and/or aggressive and either get nipped at, or chase holy hell out of the other fish. Don't feel too bad about it, you've realised now about them needing more room and yo...

Re: help sexing dwarf puffers??
What happened to only getting one?
As the others said it'll be hard to sex them when they're that young. I've had mine almost a year and he only started showing (that I could actually tell, maybe I'm blind) about 3 months ago that he was a boy, he got the wrinkles and then the stripe on his tummy.

Re: dwarf puffer in a fluval edge?
Really a DP in an Edge?
I know they need 20l per puffer and an Edge is 23, but with plants and ornaments that would drop the water volume? Plus if you add an internal that will also replace more water?

Re: DP 10 gallon
You don't a huge amount of light depending on which plants you get. My puffer tank is 40L, I've got 1DP and after a bit of a mishap with syphoning the other tank now 2 Otos and a shrimp in with him and they're all fine together. I would love to upgrade and get a few more DPs though, I'm keeping an e...

Re: London Riots......... I am planning to go out tonight
iliveinazoo- the guy who started this by getting shot's family are apparently putting in a claim for compensation, because he was shot before he could shoot, so the reason they're using is that the police weren't to know if he was definitely going to shoot, so had no right to shoot first. I have a f...

Re: London Riots......... I am planning to go out tonight
Yeah the police are doing all they can do. If they did anymore some chavvy git would turn around and sue them for using unreasonable force, or something equally stupid. I commend anyone that stands up to these people. But I don't support the people who have used the riots as an excuse to get involve...

Re: Dwarf Puffer- IPS
I've got Otos in my other tank, I left that bad boy to run for a year before I put any in :) So they won't be added time soon. I'll see how he's doing in a few weeks, if he looks a little down, I'll see if the LFS can order me some more in. At the minute he seems perfectly content to harass the shri...

Re: Dwarf Puffer- IPS
Yes, Clue ate the meds and he looks fine atm. I'm going to leave it a few weeks, to be on the absolute safe side. This might be a silly question, DPs are fine to be kept on their own arn't they? Or are there benefits to keeping more than 1? If there's not, I'm just going to let Clue have the 42L to ...

Re: Dwarf Puffer- IPS
Just thought I'd update you all.
I lost Tron this morning. I think she had just gotten too weak and she had stopped eating.
I just wanted to say thank you for all of your help and support. I'm very grateful.

Re: Dwarf Puffer- IPS
I know the mela and pimafix arn't used for ips treatment :) I've had to use them a couple of times in my other tank. I don't have much hope for Tron anymore. She's eating, but barely and just now sitting listlessly on the bottom, sometimes breathing heavily, sometimes breathing really slowly. The co...

Re: Dwarf Puffer- IPS
Urgh, I'm already probably messing up measuring stuff out for the tank already. However, I've read Epsom salts being used for other fish and for other problems? Next time I'm in my LFS I might pick some up (if they have any), I'm starting to like the idea of having treatments on hand. Can Epsom salt...

Re: Dwarf Puffer- IPS
I think I have the only fish that don't like garlic. Sigh.
Gave some to the corys and they went nuts!
(Not in the same tank btw
