Re: Freshwater GSP?
so i was just looking around on internet bored and found this site http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/speciesSummary.php?ID=7763&genusname=Tetraodon&speciesname=nigroviridis&AT=Tetraodon+nigroviridis&lang=English and got to thinking why does it say that adult GSPs live in freshwater st...

Re: Young GSP's in full marine?
So many Faults in Logic! The life span of a GSP has minimal requirements from what I have researched. I have read of GSPs dying prematurely from both marine and brackish conditions. So what exactly kills these fish. - So fish dying is proof of nothing or something, which is it? How are we supposed ...

Re: Young GSP's in full marine?
My guess those puffers died of poor water conditions, than anything else. You start going to other forums, you're going to get a lot of bad advice. We have a group here of the top pufferkeepers in the world. Especially the Mentors, who many are highly published scientists. That's right! We are all ...

Re: GSP from Walmart?
I made a video just about wal-mart and their fish keeping (abuse)NewButNotStupid wrote:I imagine walmart is selling a ton of these fish and they must all be going to anyone and everyone and dying off right away. How sad!!!
Any advise I can pass along?
Thank you!

Re: Young GSP's in full marine?
I have friends with medium-large GSP's (one small one) and they say their fish do AMAZING in full marine...regardless of maturity
Here is my GSP in his 30gal with a specific gravity of ~1.010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxDKwL2rWjM

Re: Is this animal/puffer abuse?
That would be good, but if you ever go to Wal-Mart, how often do you see someone at the pet section to help you? Usually, if a customer wants fish, they have to ask someone from a nearby department or get it themselves. If they have questions regarding the pet products, then they'll have to refer t...

Re: Is this animal/puffer abuse?
But still something should be done...When I received my GSP he had a white spot on his top fin. I increased the temp up a couple degrees and that white spot went away within a few days. So at least they can make it warmer but that is probably hard with all the fish running off the same filtration sy...

Re: Is this animal/puffer abuse?
Did anyone notice the Ick medication right in front of the tanks in my video? How funny ,honestly, that they have what they need to have somewhat healthy looking fish but aren't educated enough to know. So sad.

Re: Brackish Water Plants
Considering this species can live over 18 years, 2 years really isn't very long. haha i was going to say the same thing...2 years for a fish that lives 15+ is not long at all. GSP's will live in completely fresh water for a year or two but again they live 15+ so that is nothing compared to max life...

Re: Is this animal/puffer abuse?
Walmart doesn't care, if they could sell kitty's and dogs they would keep them in cardboard boxes, just as long as they're getting your money. If they got fined it wouldn't change anything, it'd be like a small speeding ticket to them and the only way to stop them is if everyone would stop shopping...

Re: walmart Fish
mrswiss420 good video but you said f8 like brackish but are mainly fresh water which is untrue. They are light brackish not FW at all. but no one sees the real issue..THERE ARE f8's and GSPs in the SAME TANK!! both require different salinity. SO you are telling me the guy at wal-mart is right for j...

Re: Is this animal/puffer abuse?
I realize there are much worse cases, it is like that with everything. Doesn't mean it is right. And I live in Pennsylvania and I am probably going to talk with the store manager about this. If this were a video of a cat or dog with its eyes popping out and limbs missing people would be enraged! But...
