juvenile S&S friends

Post by hamish »

I was wondering what tank mates would be compatable with a juvenile s&s puffer and a maroon clown fish (also juvenile), I have a 180l tank (I am aware that my puffer will outgrow the tank and have found a seller who will be recieving him in november when he has his tank), I want to know what type of fish, or crustacions will be compatable with my current occupants, I am mainly into fish that are out of the ordinary, perhaps a stingray or something perculiar that is similar to the puffer.
thank you

hi, hopefully stingray isn't an option and was just an example as these require much larger tanks than you can offer them, more importantly a large footprint e.g 6'Lx3'Dx2'H. since you have 180l alot of the oddballs are out of reach if you want them to live happy lives, how about a fuzzy dwarf lionfish? 6" adult size and require tank size similar to your 45U.S gallon tank. hope this helps.

With a 180l = 47 gallon you are already in need of a upgrade. I wouldn't be adding anymore stock until then. As far as the lion fish, no. Lion fish and puffer together with most likely end in a bad way.

+1 no puffer and lion mixes, it always ends badly.
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

Don't want to start an argument but I saw 4 1ft lionfish in with a 1ft porcupine at London Aquariums. I'd guess the tank was 12ft x 6ft. Maybe they were ok because of the big tank.

Have a look, here's the tank (sorry bad quality vid)
