Well a little update, his eyeball completely dissappeared. I dunno if he ate it or the filter sucked it up. But I do know he seems to be doing remarkably well considering what happened. He is swimming around like a normal GF begging for food at the glass and he is also eating like a piranha. :)

A few more days of this and I may return him to the 155G tank with his buddies and see how he handles himself.

man so many bad things in very little amount of days :( i feel for everyone, especially those who lost pets. i had two freak accidents, well three if you count my GSP ingesting air and passing. first was my marineland filter intake tube came loose sucking up one of my F8, i had to literally blow into one end of the tube to get her out, she was stuck and was air tight and was centimeters from reaching the impellor. full recovery though. second accident was my heaters glass losening when i wasnt home, exposing the insides to the water, electrocuting my tank killing off pretty much everything. all my bristle worms and beneficial animals like that surfaced from the sand and died. i havent had any tanks set up since then. probably about a year or so ago

I released my injured veiltail back into the 155G with his buddies last night. He looks to be doing well and seems to be getting a fair share of food from the others despite his disability.

Glad he seems to be doing fine, just watch that the others don't bully him
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

Well I feed them all some chopped spinach and he ferociously dragged a large piece off to a corner of the tank and was happily munching on it this morning!

I hope I am not spoiling them too much!

Try not to beat yourself up too bad. A couple of months ago I was doing a water change and I had this really cool platy with a superhigh mohawk looking fin and he kept getting near the hose and I would chase him away. Well, one time I wasn't quick enough to chase him away and through the hose he went. He got stuck right in the middle and I had to literally blow him out. He lived for a week after that, then died.

A timely reminder for me, also, with those hoses.

I'm usually the one who kills heaters by leaving then switched on when the level drops. Idiot!
