hypo and lr
Hey,
i have a sns puffer whos have ich for about 6 weeks hes eating find and its not effecting him very much. I have treated with a wide range reef safe medication but its hasn't removed it . My water parameters are all within tolerances but i cnt seem to shift it. My main filtration method is LR ive been looking at hypo salinity will this effect my lr ?

Re: hypo and lr
I would imagine so. Time for a hospital tank, do hypo salinity in the hospital tank keeping the tank with live rock stock free. You need to keep your live rock fed tho.
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

Re: hypo and lr
You cannot hypo LR, it will kill the bacteria & creatures in there, which will cause an ammonia spike, killing everything else. Hypo is filtered by many, many water changes.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

There will be much beneficial stuff in the sand etc, do not put your tank through that

Re: hypo and lr
I would not personally advise that as it would seriously stress the fish.

Re: hypo and lr
Depends on how infested the fish is by the parasite. They will fall off in the dip but then re-attach from the infected tank.

He was pretty infested i rang a reputable fs and they advised to dip him so did match the ph and temp to the water he was fine didn't stress him at all.
