F8 in a 10 gallon?

Can I keep a F8 in a 10 gallon tank? Would that be too cramped? I've read that they only grow up to 3in long and I know that they're supposed to be in a 15 gallon tank but I was just wondering if it were possible. I don't want to cause any problems for the little guy and I won't get him if I really can't keep him in a 10 gallon. Thank you very much!

Bummer. I'm in college so anything larger than a 10 gallon tank is out if the question. I would get DPs but no one seems to have them. :/

Are you sure you wouldn't get away with a 20g? Some people have. If not concentrate on your studies and get one when you finish

When I looked up f8 puffer it says 15g minimum, well I'll have a spare 15g soon and have just talked my husband into giving me the go ahead for 1 f8. I know 15g is the minimum and anything bigger is always better but am now wondering if I'd have any probs (as this is quite an active puffer) if I go with this set up?

A 15g tank when substrate etc added won't be 15 g. Worth bearing in mind. I am really anal on stocking so I wouldnt do it. I am sure it would work, what are the tank dimensions?

It's 2ft by 12 by 15 inches. A converter site says its 15.58 uk gallons

Check around online or see if your can find a local mom and pop store that will order you a Dwarf Puffer. or go with a betta fish. They're very personable, as well, and do great in a 10 gallon.

yeah 10 gallons is to small... i have mine in a 20 gallon and he seems perfect in it.

I have 2 bettas and a DP. They're both great fish. My bettas are much more outgoing.

I have a betta. Actually I technically have five. I have a very peaceful male who lives with three very active females in a ten gallon at my parents house (they're technically my mother's fish). And I have a betta with me at college, he's residing in my cycled ten gallon tank but the problem is the tank is too reflective and he keeps trying to attack himself so I was thinking of getting Dwarf Puffers, likely one or a pair, for the ten gallon tank and something smaller for my betta, I have a vase set up that my betta used to live in which worked perfectly fine for him but I upgraded figuring he could have more room but he seems to be stressing himself out a bit. As a side note, the water temperature in the vase never went to a dangerous level, it stayed in the low 70's (Fahrenheit) which I've read is fine for bettas. I don't know. I guess I'll just have to wait and figure something else out.
