"Tanked"

Post by mrgreen »

The search function seems to be broken. I got colored lines instead of words.

So I may be repeated a post here.

Who has seen the tv show "Tanked" on Animal Planet? Its a cool idea, but they never mentioned cleaning these big, odd-shaped tanks.

I like watching it, Its more for entertainment purposes ! They never go into the cleaning and maintenance . They dont take the fish into consideration when doing a tank, but again its for entertainment purposes!

I hate that show! The guys on there are idiots & make tanks that have never been cycled, nor are they functional long-term. VERY overstocked, too. I have often seen the tanks for sale on Ebay, within a month. What do you think happened to all those fish???

+1. only watched it once. Don't get me wrong they are obviously smart to be able to make anything they get watertight but........what pp said. We are here because we want the best for our fish, we care about their wellbeing and try to provide the best homes for them we can. These guys don't.
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

Seen it here while back and noticed the same thing what PP mentioned about them not cycling the tanks. Have them tanks set up and adding the fish in the very same day, seriously?

I cannot appreciate "art" (read as: worthless and cruel) which ignores the needs of live critters to be housed in it. Not in my fish tanks, not in my life. I have better things to do with time than that.

FYI, I am an old fogy, and proud of it. I also have a small art collection and their products would never be considered for inclusion in it.

I've seen most of the episodes and i agree that they build some amazing aquariums but thats about it. they may be the "#1 tank builders in the world" but just because they can build the tanks doesn't mean they should stock them. Have you seen the opening little flick that intros the show when the shorter fat guy is holding a puffed up puffer out of water? yea.......

Other than that i do enjoy the show only for the simple fact of some of the really cool aquarium designs and builds, but thats it.

That is infuriating. Was it this!?

Do not watch if you hate seeing puffers abused. :(

I like the tank designs but I cringe every time I hear them mention adding in "live sand" to the tanks during set up.

I found out the they use alot of bacteria in a bottle product. That is one reason they add so many fish, all at once. I seriously dont know how that can add that many so fast but they got ways of doing it.
