Thank you!

I put about 5 to 10 hours of work per week into my tank, and it's worth (almost) every minute of it! It's not easy to get this amount of growth in this short of time, but I feel so proud when I sit in front of the tank and just watch. Also, I'm quite a frugal person, so I haven't spent very much money.

Your tank will be amazing before you know it!

Your tank really looks amazing!! I love planted tanks and checking out other planted tanks for ideas... I like knowing we are giving the puffers a nice environment to hide and explore.. The plants are just as much fun as the puffers! :D

Thank you so much! Every week, I look at the picture from the previous week and think how terrible it looks! The plants just grow so fast!

I'm ready to cut some of the wisteria down and move some jungle val runners around with my next WC, so hopefully it'll look even nicer for when I flood the forum with pics of my new DPs this weekend!

I know! I have been bouncing around the house. I've been waiting to get dwarf puffers for FIVE years! I'm not going to be able to sleep at night. I should probably get some extra camera batteries and SD cards today to prepare.

It's PUFFER DAY! I couldn't sleep at all.

I COULDN'T SLEEP AT ALL!

Gonna go through my checklist again here quick and then go wake my husband up so we can make the hour and a half drive to GO GET THE PUFFERS!

I'm so excited. I'm pretty sure that I'm having heart palpitations.

I think I'm going to go find my inhaler.

I OWN DWARF PUFFERS!

I can't believe it! I am so thrilled!

The sale at this store was huge, so I had to wait for a bit to get help, but I spent that time in front of the dwarf puffer tank to see which ones had round tummies, clear eyes, and nice fins! The girl that helped me was very kind and patient while I told her which puffers to chase after. The tank was so full that it was very easy for the target to get lost, but she was an absolute pro!

As far as my eyes can tell, I managed to get five girls. Most of the males in the tank were pretty apparent, so I'm rather confident in my sexing. We'll see!

Alright, guys! I only managed to get a few pictures because I was too busy watching them with my eyes instead of through the lense! I hope to get more very soon.

Even before my puffers, I sat in front of my tank so often. At first, it was watching my oto cats rasp away at diatoms. It got really bad when I got the kuhli loaches. I am addicted to them. I just watch them dance, dance, dance... scavenge in the sand... hang from the plants. I love them to death.

Even worse now with the puffers. I set up a little table by the tank so that I can be on my laptop and watching the tank all day! Mostly because I enjoy it, but I want to keep a close eye on the kuhli/puffer relationships. I know that people have had success before, but the second I see a fin nip, they're getting separated! So far, the girls have no interest in the kuhli loaches. They're way too busy hunting! If anything, the kuhli loaches bother THEM! They are busy going in for a snail kill and a kuhli comes barreling in like, "Out of my way!"

If everything goes well... I have plans for my 20 gallon that involve a Figure-8...

It really IS relaxing to just stare at the fish tanks and get sucked in to their "world".. some nights during water changes, my husband and I would get so involved in aquascaping that 3 or 4 hours would fly by without our even realizing!! We really have gotten quickly submerged in the fish keeping hobby.. no pun intended! :D
