Quick! First reactions!!
If you saw this bad boy in your tank what would you do?

It appears that I have one in my tank. It is a juvie and debating on keeping it until maturity or feeding it to my crays. .. Opinions and thoughts?
Edit: this is not my pic nor are the evil looking faces in the live rock looking at the crab.

Re: Quick! First reactions!!
My first reaction would be a startled backwards hop followed by the the 'reaching-for-your-sidearm' hand motion towards my hip. Afterwards, I'd take a gazillion pictures of it and post a 'wtf is this thing' thread in the Marine Aquarium section, and hope one of you guys had an ID or at least a recipe.

Re: Quick! First reactions!!
Where do you think he hitch hiked in from? I personally think he is cute and would keep him, at least for awhile. What kind of damage do you think he could do though... do you have corals? His somewhat fuzzy appearance would make me think he may be a type to damage corals....
I could be TOTALLY wrong though.....

Re: Quick! First reactions!!
Well we know it is a type of Xanthid crab. Very aggressive and destructive. So a no-no as far as corals are concerned. Still checking on the actual species, but it appears to be about 1" ~1.5" as an adult. Given its demeanor, I have a feeling it will have to go into its own nanno tank... if I were to decide to keep it.

Re: Quick! First reactions!!
about 1cm or roughly 1/2" ..
I also read that many of these species are poisonous so you can't even use them as food or feeders.
