anubias are great , very easy to take a cutting off the rhizome ....i think presently i must have 20 or so plants off just the one i purchased

Planted tanks aren't exactly less maintenance. They need to be trimmed, if you are dosing and running CO2 , you need to check your levels periodically. Planted tanks also have a lot of debris. Ever so often the plants will need to be thinned out.
However, they are worth the work IMO, and it's really not that difficult.

Yep, constantly cleaning the intake tubes clogged with plant debris, pulling off yellowed leaves & trimming overgrowth. Just like tending to a garden.
