So first water change will be tomorrow. I am going to go ahead and change out 50 % but i have to mix the water tomorrow and let it sit overnight so i can ensure that the salt is mixed correctly.

Why not just mix up the water tonight? if you mix it tonight you will have it for use tomorrow.

Also, if you don't want to move your mollies to your 55 gallon (because mollies are not truly freshwater fish to begin with) you should see about returning them.

Mollies are fine in freshwater, as long as the KH is sufficient, they do poorly in soft fresh water.

Well, I think that varies just a bit. I have one molly who doesn't do good at all, unless in brackish.

The water has to have sufficient KH and GH. Making brackish water raises the KH and GH, but are mollies found in freshwater (as well as brackish of course) in the wild, but the water should probably be very hard water. I'm sure everything varies, but mollies are fine if the KH/alkalinity and GH is adequate, but it would be kind of silly to not just put them in brackish since that would be a very simple way to ensure those water requirements are met. That is unless having brackish water somehow would adversely affect something else in their tank.

the 55 gallon has 4 giant danios, 1 dwarf gourami, 3 upside down cats, 3 gold barbs, and two small angelfish so i wouldnt have a way to convert it to brackish unfortunately.

PH 7.8
Ammonia 0.25 ppm
NItrites 0.25ppm
Nitrates 0

I am going out of town today so when i get back the tank should be cycled out and i will do a water change then and keep monitoring it for a few more weeks before i put the puffer in..... :D
