Long Tentacle Anemone Help

Post by MeggyPuff25 »

Ok so I got my long tentacle anemone about 4 days ago and its one that stays in the sand and for some reason it hasn't picked a spot to stay. Our water is fine nitrites and ammonia are 0 and nitrates are 5. We have 48" T5 Lights on the 45g tank. It's still very sticky I know this because over the night it went onto its side and between some rocks and I had to move it out of them. What can I do help it settle?? Its a very nice anemone and it did eat. I'll try and get a picture up of wht it looks like atm.

Why'd you pull him out of the rocks? Maybe that's where he decided to go. Is there a lot of flow blowing him around? How long has this tank been set up? Water parameters (Including ca & alk)

He was on its side beteween the rocks I just nugded him so its foot was on the sand. I readjusted flow in the tank and it's not enough to push him around but enough flow to keep things flowing nicely i the tank. I don't know what the ca & alk is atm I misplaced those ones and I will be getting replacements this Friday. The anemone is looking better now, it looks like its burrying its foot a bit. Going to keep an eye on it and see what happens.

Yeah, it's really important to know all your parameters, when keeping a reef tank.

I know :( I will be likely getting a new reef test kit since after I moved here I misplaced some of them :( I just checked my anemone and its doing good, it's burried itself a bit and it's in between 2 rocks on the bottom, I'll try and get a pic up to show you. My male tomato clown has gone in it a bit but the female hasn't shown much interest, the male will go to her and try to get her to follow and be like common you gotta see this and she swims of like meh what ever LOL.
