yea, Last time I visited the parents, I brought my tools to work on my car, but forgot to bring them back with me haha. So I don't have anything with me at the moment.

New pic now that the "dust has settled"

allright well I went to pick up my lion today and I guess the LFS's supplier stiffed them on lions this week, so I wasn't able to get a fish yet. However I did get 3 hermits to add some life to the tank, they are pretty neat, black and white. I'm hoping they can stick around for a cleanup crew and keep my cycle going long enough to get a fish. If they end up eaten or something, I won't be too upset. And I definitely don't mind running my tank for another week before getting a fish in there. especially a fish I'm going to pay 40 bucks for. He said he would definitely have some by friday and that one of them has my name on it. So I'll post some pictures when I get him.

Anyone know the best placement for powerheads? I got my second one today. Right now I have one on the left side of the tank on the back wall pointed towards the front middle and down, and the other on the right side wall pointing to the back left corner and slightly down. I read somewhere on google that this was a good setup, but I'd like to hear what other people are doing. Most of my rocks are stacked toward the back of the tank.

Also got my test kit today as well. Considering I'm picking up a fish tomorrow I thought I would check to see what my water parameters were, since I haven't checked them in at least 2 weeks.

ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm
Nitrate: ~10ppm
pH: 8

I'd say I'm pretty set to go! now the LFS better have my lion tomorrow!

I know this is a old topic but the power heads should be facing at the lr because this is where the filtration will be. If you have 2 have 1 at the lr and the other at the surface to help with gas exchange.
