A bristle nose plec tops out at 3 to 4 inches. They're neat and have always been healthy and hearty for me.

Rubber lip Plecos max out at 7"

Are you looking for something that's going to help keep your algae under control, or something that's gorgeous to view when it decides to come out?

I also agree with Bristlenose. I have a few. Some of them do tend to hide in caves but the bigger ones are pretty active.
Fair warning, they seem to breed quite readily, I frequently end up with 20 or so babies in my tank.

I somehow have never taken pics of mine, silly me. :(
If anyone ever has questions on breeding them, however, I seem to have it down pat since mine were breeding a lot before I moved them to a tank with more aggressive fish. :)

That's the sane species as a Rubber Lip.
