If anyone remebers my post a while ago about possibly buying a 120G for my red-eared slider's 20th birthday (I've had him since I three!), I went ahead and got it and am currently in the process of the tank build. All of the major stuff is done, just need to do some decorationg and find a super-filter (like a fluval fx5) at a decent price... Might also try another powerhead. Anyways, I've made him a cork bark basking area, an acrylic basking enclosure, acrylic lid, and added rocks and set up my fluval 305.
So far the upgrades I have left are to add fake plants, a background, and some thermometers/heaters. I'll keep it updated with posts/pics until it's completey finished (eta finish time is about 1-1/2 months as I have to buy stuff as I get paid). Enjoy!
P.S. Sorry for the crappy pics, the only camera I have is on my phone

Well, attempted to try 1 large, cheap wysteria.... Live plant experiment failed miserably. He ate and ripped up en entire 2 foot tall wysteria in hours.. I hope he doesn't try this with plastic plants, though they should be less tasty/tempting. Lol

Re: Upgrading Red-eared slider tank
Long time no post, just got the final piece of the turtle cabana into place! One of my nicest looking tanks. P.S. With a little research found out my turtle is a girl.
Well here it is, with and without lights on.
Pictures don't do it justice, particularly when you suck at using an iphone camera

That is a nice home! I love red eared sliders from growing up in Louisiana. Wish they didn't need so much room
