do fish eat snails?

Post by Arny »

Hey guys do fish eat snails? I know some do but what type?

I have loads of baby ramshorn snails in my tank and I've been finding lots of empty shells laying around the tank. I have a betta, danios, guppies, corys and a filter shrimp. Do you know which would be eating them?
Thx

Any loaches in there? They are know snail feeders. I suppose a betta is a capable hunter and could take them out.

No loaches dmd, I've read clown loaches do. Maybe the betta. I also thought it may be the corys.

We have corys in the community (oh how I hate it) tank, and something in there ate all our ramshorns too.

It will likely be the betta.
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

Bettas will eventually wipe out ramshorns, but have a harder time w/common pond snails. Ramshorns expose too much of their body too often. Few fish will eat Olive Nerites. But those cannot reproduce in FW, though they do scatter egg here and there.
