Cloudy water

Just did my water changes as usual, I am going away for 4 nights Monday which is enough to make me twitch. So in prep I did another change straight after, will do another tomorrow. My main tank has a sort of cloudy haze to it. Before water change 0 amm 0 nit and barely detectable nit. Now the same but 0,0,0. Not sure why the cloudy water has appeared. It's not real bad but I notice it. The only new thing in the tank is lots of ghost shrimp which have been watched for 2 weeks and added today so they can find places to hide. I am really confused, any ideas? Filters are due to be cleaned next week.

I have noticed mine has also been doing this lately. I haven't figured out the problem either.

If your water supply is surface water or shallow aquaters, it is not unusual for spring rains to temporarily increase the nutrient load in the tap water. That may not be any issue (usually isn't) but can be if extra partials are done back to back - i,e,, you boost the nutrients imported more than usual.

If that is the case, it is a transient problem and generally clears quickly on your routine schedule.

Yup. When our water supply was redone a few years ago, it was changed to include a shallow local aquifer. I got me the first year. Sometimes I do multiple back-to-back partials when resetting or replanting a tank. Now I avoid that in the spring.

It does make sense, but I don't think it could have gotten cold enough for anything to freeze where I am, to cause spring thawing. All the fish seem fine, but my tank is still a bit cloudy.
