puffer beer belly??

Post by mixmastermike52 »

Hi everyone Mike here I'm new to this site so I'll try to keep this short. My Dog face puffer has a large protruding belly close to his anal fin. It has been like this for about one day and I am getting a little worried that it might be something of concern. he seems healthy and vibrant so I have no idea what it could be. I feed him a varied diet of Squid,Clams, crab legs, algae wafers and snails. small portions once or twice daily. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you all.

Please post your exact water parameters as a place to start. How long have you had it? Have there been any recent additions to the tank?

Might be constipated. I had this problem once. If so, you can try feeding him peas and see if that helps.

peas is a good start if it is constipation. Do you feed any shelled food , it could be a bit of shell causing an obstruction

not any shelled food or any sponges in tank. Now he has some tiny black spots on skin and tiny white dots on fins. He is eating mostly Krill,Mussels, and algae pieces. I don't know what it could be need some help I don't want him to be unhealthy!

Tank parameters:Nitrate.15 Nitrite.0 P.H 8.1 and 25% water changes weekly
