Which is the largest marine puffer?

Post by StayPuffed »

Hello, can somebody please tell me which is the largest marine puffer, how long they live, and what they eat?

Also, my puffer fish seems to interact with me in ways my other fish don't. Is it possible that puffer fish are more intelligent than other fish?

Thanks!

I believe A. Stellatus is the largest marine puffer, way too big for the average aquarist unless you have an unlimited budget to work with.

I wouldn't say they are more intelligent, they just have a very big personality for a fish. Ever kept an Oscar cos they have personality in abundance.

The arothron caeruleonigropunctatus can reach up to almost 5 feet.
Puffers have lived for over 20 years in public aquariums.
