Feeding Suggestions

Post by petebsbll »

To say the least my puffer is huge. And he loves to eat, alot. I am very careful not to overfeed him and allow him to get to out of shape, but he is a big guy. Anyway.. I have been offering him Silversides, Krill, and just introduced Salad shrimp which I bought at the local grocery. The shrimp has had the shell and tail already pulled so its safe for him to eat. Anybody else feed their puffers shrimp? Just want to make sure its a safe and healthy food for him. Also what fruit/vegys do you all feed to your puffers? I tried carrots and cumcumber, he nibbled at them but was not very interested. I was thinking about trying some slices of bananna, anybody else tried using a bananna or other softer types of fruits?

Thanks,

-peter

Shrimp is great but leave the shell on for your puffer's teeth. I wouldn't try banannas, too messy. Some of my puffers have eaten algae wafers.

Give peas a try but only as an occasional treat.
