Valentini and Green Spotted Puffers...

Post by JustinPSmith »

How compatible would these guys be? I know the Valentini only gets about 3 inches and GSP around 4-6? So not a huge difference in size. The GSP I have now has never bothered the few tankmates he has had in the past but was quite young. He is now around 3 inches and the Valentini I found is about the same size...Any Thoughts on keeping them together?

Well I have had a GSP that wouldn't tolerate anything smaller than he was in the tank, and I had one that left everything alone...all depends on the fish itself.

My GSP would probably tolerate a valentini (he's a big coward), but my sharpnose toby is a mean little guy and will bite anything - even if its bigger than him. I keep mine in separate tanks.

All depends on the fish. You can try but be prepared to seperate them.

I think it is very possible, but risky. Let me know how it goes if you do do it, i've been debating trying the same thing.
