I was at one of my LFS's today just checking out their selection and I noticed they had a young (about 4") Porcupine puffer in one of the tanks. Then I noticed his underside was bright white, almost like it had been painted. My Porcupine's belly looks nothing like this one. While the tips of his spines down there are white, his body is the usual tan color. Was this puffer painted? Is it normal or is this some kind of illness? I snapped a picture with my camera phone, this was the best I could get.

Thanks for the info. The belly of my porc is not nearly that white and I thought the one at the LFS looked painted on. This LFS sells all kinds of dyed/injected fish, that’s why I had my suspicions.
