I just purchased this fish from an LFS for $3.99 and it is currently in a 20G QT tank. I was just looking for more info about it. It is currently about 1.5"-2". From what I understand, these were locally caught (Long Island). I did a search on here but got nothing. Anyone have one of these or know more about them? Thanks.

I tried getting a pic myself but my camera stinks, I will try with someone else's.

Oops, sorry, didn't even follow that link! There really isn't much info on that puffer. Pretty cool that you have one!
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

I'm actually not positive, but I believe it may be a Bandtail puffer and not the Guinean. Sphoeroides spengleri instead of Sphoeroides marmoratus. However on fishbase it says that the spengleri was replaced by the marmoratus in the eastern atlantic. What does that mean?
I believe this is it:

Well, I found out through someone local who has a few of these that the spengleri and the marmoratus are the same fish, and that the name was just replaced. So, Guinean or Bandtail Puffer seem to be the appropriate names. Since there is no information on this puffer here, I am going to keep somewhat of a log to help share some information about them. I will post it as I experience it.
