If it really is a "Chilomycterus schoepfi" it will be about 10 inches when full grown. Which means I have to start saving up money for a bigger tank.
I have it in a 55 gallon but I really need a 75 for it.
I really wanted a smaller puffer but this looked so cute when it was first brought home I could not resist it. My puffer addiction took over me.
It needs to be fed about 3 times a day.

You are correct. That is the species name. We went fishing again and caught another but did not keep it. There was a Game Warden at the same spot and I asked.Puffer Queen wrote:Burrfish not boxfish.
Chilomycterus schoepfi - just like any of the puffers - many variations.
It is definitely not a chilomycterus antillarum if that is what you are possibly thinking or have been told.
We told him how they are numerous in our region and they stated it could be due to the Red Tide that started early. They are coming up here for cleaner waters.
