Snail and hermit question

Post by sassiegemstone »

I couldn't find anything posted. Since I'm new to marine puffers but what is the general rule of thumb for snails?

I know with freshwater/brackish puffers you should not feed them the ones that look like trumpets/ice cream cones?

Is this all the same for hermits too?

I would avoid the pointy snails for safety. There are so many other good crunchy things like cockles, clams, oysters, mussels, crabs, etc. that you need not bother with pointy snails.

:?: I was given a small hermit and am wondering what do they eat? Neighbor's kid found one and it was not doing well in the goldfish tank so they brought it over to me.

I have taken this small hermit does nibble on the shrimp that the puffers don't eat.

Hermit crabs are terrestrial. Might be why its not doing well in the goldfish tank. I don't believe they are supposed to be submerged.
