Hi everyone
I was hoping someone could tell me if my little valentini puffer is a boy or a girl. I normally call them Toby but it would be nice to know.
Thank you

Re: Sexing my toby
I don't know the Tobies well, but in general sexing puffers is difficult to impossible. Adult female puffers housed as singletons occasionally dump infertile eggs, and that doe define their gender. Failure of singletons to do this does not mean that they are males however.

Re: Sexing my toby
I know my valentini is female, I think it's in the puffpedia, hold on...
Thought it was the pedia... But I guess I googled it when I got Lila months ago:

This also came up in my google search maybe someone can edit it into the valentini puff page?

Never trust big puffers. The fingers you save may be your own. -RTR

Re: Sexing my toby
Looks like a little girl to me. Male tobies have iridescent lines around their eyes and a dark patch on their undersides near their rear ends. I don't see the lines around the eyes in this pic.
