Tiny white bugs swimming and on plexiglass

Post by yorkbag »

Greetings, Puff friends. I have these tiny little white gnat flea swimmers in my tank. They appeared after I removed the live rock to remove a nasty blue hippo tang. My research online appears to be "copepods", however my tank guy says they are not if I did not add them. They do not bother the fish, however they are everywhere. Free swimming all over the front and back of the plexiglass. All of my water tests come back to right where they should be. What are the opinions here? Pic attached (sorry for the quality, they are SMALL). Thank you.

Probably pods that arrived with your live rock
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

+1, they are needed in an enclosed SW system to break down detritus.
