New fahaka setup
Re: New fahaka setup
before anyone points out the fact that my tank is pretty bare... my old tank was decorated and all Phil would do is bury himself in the gravel or lay in open space... so why waste precious space with unused decorations

Maybe he buried himself to feel more protected? I find that fish feel they have lots of things to retreat to if necessary, they are out more.

good call actually... on another note.... I have three HOB filters running, Fluval c3/c4 and an emperor 400... is that overkill on a 120??

+1 to both PP's comments above. I really is not possible to over-filter. You may have too much current for a particular set-up, but filtration is effectively open-ended. IME fish want both security and open swimming space (the latter with some detectable to relatively strong current- Fahaka adults are main-channel fish much of the time).
