water parameters for Fahaka.

Post by shooterKD »

I just got a bigger tank to upgrade my rescued Fahaka. Until now I've relied on water from a friends place, but with the bigger tank I need to find another water source. I'm on well water with a water softener and my parameters right from the tap are: ammonia 0.25. Nitrate 0. Nitrite 0. PH about 8.0. Now, I realize the pH is high. Should I be concerned? What could I add to lower pH? Any other concerns I should have using water softened well water?

Thanx

I wouldn't be concerned about pH. As long as it's stable, the puffer will adjust. You could add driftwood, to keep it lower though.
