Re: ghost shrimp and fahaka puffer
Ghost shrimps need brackish water to breed. They can have eggs in FW but u will never see the babies.. And your Fahaka will soon out grow the stage of eating ghost shrimps.
Mystery snails are FW. As mentioned in your other thread, breeding mystery snail is way too troublesome and not feasible.
And ghost shrimps eats snail.
So, in short.. I would say no.

Breeding snails and shrimp in the same tank usually doesn't work well anyway.

Why not try crays.. They are more fun to watch as well.

I wouldn't breed anything in the same tank as your snails, because they're likely to eat the snail eggs.scpion wrote:Why not try crays.. They are more fun to watch as well.
If you wanted to breed ghost shrimp secondly, they could be beneficial. However, always gut load them first. And it will take quite a few to fill up a fahaka I imagine. If you ever get another, smaller puffer though they'd be good for that, too.

GS are pretty much worthless nutritionally, unless gut-loaded.

Re: ghost shrimp and fahaka puffer
Another site I belong to a guy said he buys 50-60 lbs if crayfish a year and freezes them not a bad idea since the freezing would kill off any bugs and its cheaper then buying a cpl a week I wonder what the price diff would be to setting up a tank with filter heater water changes and food
