My new Figure 8 Puffers seem to be doing very well in my 65 gallon tank.
All four are about 2" head to tail, and still in freshwater.
I'm very concerned about their teeth overgrowing, and so have begun a Ramshorn Snail tank which is doing well so far.
I've noticed that my F8's will eat a portion of a snail, leaving most of it inside the shell.
They often come back to it, but never attempt to break or chew on the shell to get the snail that is still inside.
As soon as I manually crack the shell, the contents are devoured.
I want them crunching on the shell to help with their teeth.
Any thoughts/ideas?
PS I'm also feeding Hakari frozen blood worms, and frozen raw shrimp.

OK I guess that makes sense.
I'll give it a try right after I find a new home for the Mollies that are sharing the tank.

Crush the snail before feeding it out to the puffer.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...
