Help me make a feeding schedule!

Post by bigpuff »

So I've never owned puffers before and will soon be getting 5 juvenile figure 8 puffers. I need you guys to help me figure out a feeding schedule. I've read the feeding & F8 articles, I just need to know how much to feed them and how much of each type of food.

I don't have a snail breeder tank, I was thinking about setting one up. What do you guys think? Do other shelled foods grind down their teeth as well?

But for now I was going to feed them predominantly (~80%) frozen shelled foods (that I would defrost and dose with vitamins) and supplement it with frozen blood worms and other non-shelled foods (~20%).

What shelled foods should I use and how much should I put in per feeding? Are there any others than mussel and cockel? Which is the best for grinding down teeth? How many times a day or week?

A rough outline of a weekly feeding schedule would be great :)

Just feed until their bellies become rounded. You can feed raw shrimp with shells on as well.

Are raw shrimp with shells as good as snails for wearing down teeth?
