Green Spotted Puffer
So after ordering my f8 for my 45g tank and going to pick it up it is a clear as day GSP. I told the salesman who was still convinced it was a f8 (what do i know he works in a fish store). i showed him pictures of real f8s and he just told me it was the only kind they could get. i called around to other lfs and no one could get them so i went with the gsp since i was torn between the two for a while anyway. i just want to make sure im doing it right he was sold in fresh water so he is in that now. ill do a weekly 25% water change increasing the sg by .002 a week until around 1.022 im going to be making a sump tank out of a spare 10g i have to hold a protien skimmer and some extra live rock to keep space up top. one question is do i need a powerhead? any other advice is appreciated.

Yes, with live rock, you'll need a powerhead. Congrats on your new GSP friend!

Re: Green Spotted Puffer
I experimented with the reflection thing, it was painful to say the least. Fish cannot see a reflection of themselves. Being in a glass box might be new to him, he's likely trying to swim where he can see as he did in the wild
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

yes, the tank was cycled with an instant cycle and then kept with some tetras that are now in a community tank. i changed the light on the top to an old led light i had and he calmed down and is doing fine now!

Not really one of my finest moments, sticking head into fish tank in plastic bag, goggles work better. I nearly lost an eyehadla wrote:Still have to smile when Bertie posts about his "experiment!"
