I havent seen mine puff. He didnt even puff when he decided to take a stroll outside of the tank for a couple hours. I have thought about setting up a contantly recorded webcam for this reason though.

:(
Not directed at any one particular person who might come across this thread but please don't do that to your puffers to witness them inflating.

I couldn't find any PP. I found this:
(heads up - this video contains unnecesary and fairly rough poking of a wild puffer)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwGdFHHssls

but I'm not sure whether it's a GSP or a similar species

+1 to sgt's comment

Thanks arny. That's a neat pic.

@welch yeah i was thinking about that too :D I'll probably never get round to it, though.

I just can't comprehend it. From sneezing pandas to blending iphones, theres a video of everything else in the world on the internet.

:| PP have yours ever puffed?

p.s. If so, just out of interest, did they do that swallowing-type action that others do? Did they show spikes?

Looks like a burrfish. Yes, they'll always show spikes, no my GSPs have never puffed (that I've seen).

Here's a nice picture

I have seen it a few times on mine, but maybe once in a year or two.

oh cool thanks! Out of interest, What triggered the behaviour?
Also, did he do the repeated swallowing that you see in other puffers? :)

Nothing obvious triggered it. It was like practicing I guess, Yep, it was repeated swallowing.

Your puffer lives in a FW community tank? How long?

Thanks for sharing! :)

Could you see spines (spikes) on him?

Also, can you be sure he hadn't just eaten?

At about 1:00 it looks like he's eating blood worm

Mine's puffed up twice, but it's hard to get a picture since ignoring him (while sitting by his snail tank) seems to be what sets him off.

Wasn't sure about the spikes the first time, but I was totally sober the second time, they only stuck out for an instant.
