Gravel for brackish GSP tank?
Gravel for brackish GSP tank?
I was considering switching from sand to black gravel in my GSP tank (high brackish). Is this ok to do?

Re: Gravel for brackish GSP tank?
I preffer to use a sand bed as the gsp tend to rest their stomach on it when they sleep. As far as gravel goes I dont see much benefit. But if you are looking for a rockier subtate you could try a crushed coral which to the extent of my knowledge will buffer your ph that the gsp requires.

If you were switching for aesthetics, I would still recommend a sand. You could try a tahitian moon sand.

When I first started my GSP tank I triple washed play sand with no problems. Kept it until SG 1.015

Why and what did you switch to at 1.015?

Aragonite sand is best to maintain a STEADY pH, around 8
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...
