Re: Two GSPs 40GAL Tank
My big GSP's are in a 55 right now. If I could ever do it over again I would have gotten a 75 instead. I like its wider footprint.

Re: Two GSPs 40GAL Tank
Found an old thread somebody posted with some pictures I loved. These are three adult GSP's in a 100 gallon aquarium. Look at the full tank shot to get a sense of the scale.

Re: Two GSPs 40GAL Tank
The tank scale looks good, but I am not sure those are quite full size. Depending on their age and on when their last meal was, I would like them to be a bit more slender - they are just a tad "blimpy" - i.e., too smoothly rounded in belly profile. That hints heavily at excess fat. It is very hard to keep puffers trim.
Unless there is a sump, the real water volume is 'way less than the nominal volume - LR eats water volume.
Co-housing GSPs is highly uncertain and IME, completely unpredictable. I agree that it could well be gender-related.

Yes, BUY IT NOW!!! It has everything you need for an instantly cycled SW tank & those 2 fish would go with the puffers swimmingly! If what's pictured is all the live rock though, you're gonna need lots more.

Re: Two GSPs 40GAL Tank
Alright I will contact the owner of the tank tomorrow. What should I do about the water? Drain it and purchase SW from the LFS? The puffers I currently have are in 1.020 SG.

Re: Two GSPs 40GAL Tank
If you wait until tomorrow, it may be gone. Good deals like this go quickly!
Take as much of the water with you as you can. Otherwise, yes, buy SW from the LFS. You can move the SG down as far as 1.018 without harming the bacteria.

Re: Two GSPs 40GAL Tank
I've already contacted him, it's late 10:30EST . Was posted 10 days ago. Hopefully I get a response soon. I would need to add a fair amount of decorations as well correct?

Re: Two GSPs 40GAL Tank
I am heading to look at the tank Saturday. I plan on bringing it home.
Bringing about 30 gallons of water with me should be plenty correct or do you think I should bring upwards to 50?
