I recently approved someone with that username over here... If it was her/him he/she should start posting here. Should at least be friendlier
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

There are many knowledgeable fish keepers on this forum willing to help and give great advice...The advice is free; What you choose to do with it gives it value.

there is something definitely off with some of those replies.

sounds like a good candidate for TPF. More centralized learning. I remember being in his shoes.

I can't bring myself to post over there, it's tough enough getting people to trust your advice when several others back it, but with the amount of noise there...
It's just most peoples nature to follow the council they get which is most akin to what they know. Most people, however, "know" many many things that will only cause trouble keeping or treating fish, and inconveniently many bits of good knowledge are more expensive or more work than problem-ridden stuff.

No matter how magnificent your successes or devastating your failures, the worlds' approximately 5 billion impoverished people could not possibly care less.

Re: This guy needs help!!!
Ok, now I am starting to see the problems over there...
Advice given by 2 MODS for a Puffer tank-
"Any amount of ammonia isn't toxic to any fish. I cycled my last pool with animals and it was over 2 parts for a few weeks. Let the animals tell you how they are doing. If they are eating, chances are they are fine. One of the first things an unhealthy animal will do is stop eating. Color look bright and crisp and are they active? Also a sign they are fine. The second thing I'd watch for is pale fish that hide alot."
"If you do BIG water changes you're tank won't cycle. You will be working against yourself. You need to let the tank establish itself, if anything doing small water changes if you see the animals start to act different than normal."
As anyone PMed the OP with an Invite to the TPF?
I am not going to post anymore in that thread. It is obvious that whatever I say, the mods will come along and undermine the advice. You know they deleted one of my posts in the last thread? In the post I was talking to PP. The said "post not useful" and deleted it. So apparently threads are for "advice" no matter how bad only. What a nice community.

Re: This guy needs help!!!
Hello all. I am the "guy".... My name is Marissa but I prefer Giggles. I know that having 3 GSPs in a ten gallon tank is bad for them. I have a 46g tank in my room but I am afraid to fill it. We have a 10g max in my dorm... I was told by my RA that if they find out that I filled it I would be fined and it would be removed immediately...
We will run from neither fears nor dreams...
We will learn to stare back at both.

Welcome to the forum!!! Just out of curiosity, can you ask your (or any) biology teacher if you can set up in there?

J-P is always full of good ideas! I don't think she's taking biology until next semester though.
