Oh, no! That poor little thing! Melafix should help those fins.
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

Bringing this thread back after a long time.

Puffer is still doing fine, the tank isn't as clean as it was in the original pictures but remains basically the same. Down to just figure 8's and a goby now.

I was considering switching over to a canister filter, does anyone have any recommendations or experience with one with a brackish tank?

Monitor water quality routinely. I would not try to keep that much fish mass in a 29 myself. I am pretty conservative on keeping non-schooling fish.

I will only use eheim canisters now, they are the most reliable on the market. Also part of my ocd
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

+1 to Bertie's comments on Eheims - they are I've used for decades.

Would a Eheim 2215 plus a Koralia Nano be enough for a 29 gallon? http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/p ... atid=23591

I already have the nano sitting around.

I am between the 2213 and 2215.

I use a lot of 2215s. You can always reduce the output, but you cannot increase it. I am also more than a little neurotic about fine-tuning current in new set-ups. I also always mufti-filter.
