Please help to identify my puffer

Post by TomTetraodon »

Hi everyone.

I have just bought a puffer fish. He was sold to me as a target puffer. (Tetraodon leiurus) so I have been trying to research him but can't find a lot of information. So could really do with some help to accurately identify him please.

He has silvery eyes with red rings, a cross on his head, to pale patches at the back of him that turn dark when he is hunting and a red tipped tail. His normal colour seems to be a green too. Many thanks.

Tom.

Leiodon cutcutia (formerly known as Tetraodon cutcutia).
Give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day. Give a fish a man, and he'll eat for weeks.

I can tell you that this Puffer is a common Puffer found in Southeast Asia, they can also live in light brackish water.
