Tank mates with DPs

Post by Andy W »

After we lost our last group of dwarf puffers (whitespot) I added some female guppies to the tank to keep the cycle going.

I have left the female guppies in and on the whole they seem to be co-existing well. I did expect some of the larger female fry to be attacked but this has not been the case. Two of the females have coloured tails while others are plain, the ones with coloured tails have been nipped a bit, the others are unharmed so far.

Also in the tank I have a 4in Bristlenose, again this seems unphased by the puffers although it tends to hide under the bogwood during the day.

Last time I was forever having to clear up the uneaten bloodworm, this time the excess seems to be eaten by the other tankmates.

I'd really like to add some glass or armano shrimps to help with the algae on the Red Moor wood I also have in the tank.

Added some shrimps with little issue.

One did steal a snail one of the puffers was feeding on and got swift retribution from the DP, lost part of one of it's leg but seems fine now.
