Dwarf Puffer feeding

Post by kamikaze5 »

Hello everyone, im currently cycling my 5.5 gal tank and im allowing my plants to grow as much as possible, im also breeding pond snails in a separate 1/2 gallon beta tank so im in no rush to get my dp yet. My question is how many snails pond snails should I feed a dp?

Feed till the tummy is nicely rounded but not super bloated. Depends on the size of the snails and the size of the DP. Start with a single tiny snail, and see how it goes from there.

The DP in my avatar was filled with both food AND eggs. Her size went down appreciably once she laid them. That image is not the "nicely rounded" you're aiming for.

That image is what I like to call a very happy puffer tummy XD anyway, dps don't usually crunch down on snails like bigger puffs... They spend like a minute trying to get the right angle to just slurp them up lol... If you want them to bite at the shell, smash it
Never trust big puffers. The fingers you save may be your own. -RTR
