Hello all, I'm new to this forum and new to Puffers so pardon me if this question has been asked before. I'm setting up a 150 Gallon tank in my living room and originally planned to stock it with a large flower horn or Oscar as a pet. I have many years of experience with large cichlids but got out of the hobby for several years while traveling overseas. When exploring which type of fish I wanted to put in the tank I came across the idea of perhaps just keeping one puffer in the tank instead. I realize a 150 Gallon tank is far too small for the giant size puffers like the MBU but was curious if any of you have a recommendation for a puffer that might work. Ideally I'd like one which doesn't get much bigger than say 12" or so (no need to get a bigger tank later), has good color and perhaps might be considered easier to manage for a newbie. I'm learning every day on this forum and am in no hurry, I just thought I'd ask for thoughts on what you would do if you were starting out in my shoes.
Thanks!!

Lineatus? Mean as anything, a bit bigger than 12" is to be expected though
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

Arothron nigropunctatus would be a great singleton in a 150G FOWLR tank.

I agree with a fahaka. I've never had a mean one out of the three I have kept. I know they can be vicious towards other fish so sould be kept alone.

Ya. I would say a fahaka would be a very good choice. They are extremely interactive. After I donated birdy, I recently got a tiny 1in fahaka. And my wife keeps asking me why is there only a tiny fish in that tank...
