still cant decide between at 28 or a 36 gallon bow front for a red eye. I know 36 kind of big. but she wont mind
I would like it to be a planted tank non co2. mainly ground cover for ghost shrimp and snails to hide in
pet co has a 28 gallon bow front 24.1 w x 15d x 19h. with stand and marine land double bright led light for 250$
the led light lists 1w white led , 60mw blue led. 600 lumens. ( is this led light enough for a simple ground cover)
plan would be to use the gravel from my 7 gal mini bow. and cover with some type of plant substrate. as well as use my current penguin 100 to cycle. and hope to get a fluval. 204 for Christmas. other ideas was to have some one drill 2 holes in the back of the tank for the fluval.
Thoughts? ideas?

Re: questions about a tank im cosidering
Its only 8 additional gallons to step up, so my vote is for the 36. With puffers its best to give them the extra water volume. If money will be tight to upgrade filtration I would just get a bigger Penguin instead of a canister.

+1 to the 36. I wouldnt attempt to drill out a tempered glass tank. Best if acrylic or acrylic bottomed.

It should if you get the model number of the light you should be able to look up reviews someone may have a comment about the light in a planted tank. And most led light manafactures with have a tech breakdown on their site about par and pur of the fixture at various depths. As long as these meet the requirements of the plants your looking to go with you should be good to go.
