Duboisi rescue

Post by Sterling »

Hi everybody

So I go to the lfs and there are two miserable looking duboisi puffers mixed in with a bunch of cichlids, what we call a "malawi" mix. So bought the two 8cm guys and brought them home. Both have nipped fins. They are in a 60l quarantine tank. I have an open 100l tank that is busy cycling will this be ok for them?

Thanks

I would keep them separate. More than likely, their fins are nipped by each other.

If I use a divider would the 100l tank be ok for them?

100l is the bare minimum for 1.

I also read that their max size is around 9cm? Also is it ok if I don't feed them fish since they are Piscivores? And I assume they should be kept completely alone?

Piggy loved the wood lice, Pufferpunk. I'm finding them a good and crunchy addition to his diet

For some reason I mentally added a comma between people and shrimp which made me rather worried for a few seconds..

Yes, those are Abeis. I hope you've got them separated?

Yes the moment I figured out what they were I separated them. They seem happy. Will be setting up another 100l tank so they each can have one.
