I'm not sure...
I'd rather be safe than sorry either way... but the shrimp and plants seem fine so I suppose it's not toxic

A relatively consistent pH of 8.8 is NOT toxic. Bringing in water or doing the whole RO thing is, in my not-so-humble opinion, a great big unnecessary hassle.Sun_Queen wrote:I'm not sure...

Yo ho, yo ho, a puffer's life for me.
Re: 20 gallon Dp
IDK, I'm starting a nano reef later in the summer anyways, and I'd really like it for that...
And I'd like to have plenty of control lol
So might as well get it now...

So... the puffers are in the house
I just picked them up 30 mins ago and I'm acclimating them now- At least one is boy he has the "wrinkles" that one is the largest and he is a little less than an inch!

Very nice, well done. So we can expect pics soon I hope?
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly
Re: 20 gallon Dp
yus, the pics will be coming in soon, but the lights in the tank are off now to let them settle in so it'll have to wait D:
Btw right now one looks pretty bad he doesn't look as strong as the other two, and I think they all need to be treated for IP's, could someone give a link to a good medicine please? (but I can't be sure since I don't know when they've last eaten/ how much they ate, they could just be skinny)

See how you go over the next couple of days, if you have ip meds I would treat the food whilst they are so hungry, if not I would get some just incase. It doesn't hurt to air on the side of caution.

Re: 20 gallon Dp
How likely do you think it'd be for them to eat today?

Re: 20 gallon Dp
Make sure the tiny one gets some, if you don't have one already invest in a net breeder box, in the past I had to feed slower dps seperately although this is far from common. After time they would associate the net with food and swim in. I miss my dps so much but will have some more soon once I get the perfect set up, not long now tho

Re: 20 gallon Dp
Bless. You will be glued to their tank front for days counting them constantly going awwwww. Lol you will give anyone in the room a running commentary of what they are doing, I drive my wife insane talking rubbish about all my hobbies, I forced her to sit through me explaining what all the bits do on my newest motorbike last night. She now knows what does what on it lol or she may just be pretending?

Re: 20 gallon Dp
lol I found him, and fed them some frozen blood worms. they were eating cautiously lol they had to bite off bits, the blood worms were as long as them (all the food they missed the ghost shrimp caught lol)
