Oliver, T. Turgidis
Months later I have return, with pictures of Oliver. He is doing great, and happily living with a rainbow shark, clown loach, and pleco still in a 39 gallon tank.

Very nice animal and cool pictures. Though it appears he may be a snail serial killer.

Re: Oliver, T. Turgidis
He has a very lively personality. Yea, he loves snails. I put 5 or 6 in every two weeks, and he usually goes nuts on them in the first night. I might need to get a another tank for snails only, to limit his serial snail killings.

Re: Oliver, T. Turgidis
I am looking at upgrading Oliver's tank in the next month or two. I have a 56 gallon column tank being unused and with a greek theme in mind. The tank will house Oliver, a rainbow shark, and a clown loach (possibly 2 or more). I plan on getting an aqueon 75 (for 90 gallons) and possibly gravel again. I have debated sand, but not sure if Turgs prefer sand to gravel or vice versa. Another thought for the new tank will be an air pump. However, I am not exactly sure how the pumps work and how to incorporate one into my new tank design. Here is an attached picture of what I currently have.

Re: Oliver, T. Turgidis
Nice Cool pics
Mine Turgidus "Bob" hes quite shy, usally hide during daytime, but moore active during the night.
And i have tried to have tankmates with him, with no luck, we tried a few big applesnails (Pomacea canaliculata) but he just attacked and eate the face of them in a flash,,,, hes so agressive...
The M Turgidus is a lovely puffer...

I don't think that loaches are good tankmates for puffers at all, especially Clowns. They will be too likely to out-comete and will definitely outgrow him and the tank.

Re: Oliver, T. Turgidis
It has been a good bit of time since the last update. However, Oliver is doing great. Uploading another video on youtube atm, pictures to follow in a few days. In a 56 gallon now, still with his tank mate, The Rainbow Shark, who has managed to stay alive for almost 2 years now with Oliver. http://www.youtube.com/user/Yerdenc/videos

Nice setup my turg gets all nervous and stops eating if there are other fish in his tank.
Kind regards,

Re: Oliver, T. Turgidis
I love Oliver dearly, but due to moving to a new living situation, I will no longer be able to keep the happy puffer. I am putting feelers out early to see if anyone in this community may be interested in adopting Oliver? Someone who will appreciate and love him as the unique puffer he is

Re: Oliver, T. Turgidis
I will be moving to the SC area (Greenville, hopefully) & will be setting up a fish room for puffers. Just can't seem to find a house we want out there!

Re: Oliver, T. Turgidis
I will check back over the coming weeks and months, maybe get a nice post together dedicated to rehousing Oliver. I hope your housing situation works out in Greenville, SC. I wouldn't mind driving him if it came to it. Thank you for your speedy interest/replyPufferpunk wrote:I will be moving to the SC area (Greenville, hopefully) & will be setting up a fish room for puffers.
