Arothron caerulopunctatus Date: 16/08/06
Owner: PufferPedia Admin
Size: 1 item
Common Name: Blue-spotted Puffer

Family: Tetraodontidae

Distribution: Asia: Indian and W. Pacific Oceans; Coral reefs and coastal areas

Water Parameters: Temp: 23-26C (74-80F); pH 7.9-8.4. Ocassionally also found in temperate waters, so a cooler temperature may be tolerated.

Personality/Temperament: Unknown

Max. Size: 48 inches (120 cm)

Estimated Lifespan: ~15 years

Sexual Dimorphism: Unknown

Diet: Likely live and frozen foods (not fish), freeze-dried krill, frozen shrimp, squid, clams and other molluscs and crustaceans. Feeding and Diet article

Care: These puffers can reach over four feet in length, and a tank at least 12ft long and with plenty of room for the puffer to turn around is highly recommended. Not a fish for a beginner or small tanks, the larger the tank, the better.

Breeding: Unknown

Minimum Tank Size: 300 US Gallons (1000 liters)

**This is the original doc. 1 correction to the tank size has been made and was up'ed to 1000+ gallons and later up'ed again to "the ocean"

Also Caerulopunctatus spelling should be verified as it may be: caeruleopunctatus (note the "e" after the "l").
if you follow me, you avoid stepping in the crap that I just did...
