Hi All,
Greetings from a new puffer lover in the UK. I would welcome your thoughts and advice on the following;
I have 2 juvenile figure 8 puffers in a 68 Litre Boyu tank with a bristle nose plec and 5 Danios. I am looking to get an external filter for our tank and would welcome your thoughts on what one to get. I have been looking at the Fluval's - specifically the 206, 306 & 406.
Any thoughts, advice and guidance would be helpful.
Cheers all

Hi and welcome to the forum! I am also from the UK.
I have a 306 external filter and it is great! Uprgaded from an internal filter over a year ago and would never look back! I was using it on a 110l tank up until recently so it was turning the tank over nearly 9 times an hour which is plenty, and I have a fahaka puffer! In a 68l tank it would nearly be double!!
I am now using the filter as a secondary filter to my new juwel rio 300 tank along side the standard filter that the tank comes with (1000lph) just to keep the water crystal clear!
I still have my old tank by the way so if your interested?!

Welcome. With puffers you want aim at least for 3x turn over. Aka. Is you have a 68 litre tank you will want to aim for a filter that does at least 204 litres per hour.

Welcome. I doubt the plec will like the brackish water the f8s will need. You might also end up with some aggression in that size tank. 60l for the first f8 + 40 for each extra added.
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly
