Fungus on puffer

I have noticed a small bit of fungus near my puffers mouth.
I think mabie i never got rid of it 100% and it's come back, like last time its a really small peice and is only in one spot.

Should i buy some aquarium salt or is that not ok for my t. suvattii freshwater puffer?
Should i turn the heat up again?

Is there any brands of medicine or salt i should buy to make sure i get rid of it for good? pimafix mabie?

Thanks all.

Use melafix to help heal it. Aquarium salt is not worth it either cos no-one knows what it actually is lol. Add regular salt? Not 100% sure how to treat fungus I'm afraid. Someone will chime in soon. If looking for an actual medication avoid anything with malachite

Thanks again bertie. Is the pimafix the fungus one or do you use them both together (melafix & pimafix)?
I won't buy no treatments untill im sure i don't want to buy something thats not right like the lfs will probley reccomend.

I know you can use them both together for sure. If it's the correct treatment or not I can't tell you I'm afraid. Melafix will help heal and I think ( don't quote me) pimafix will attack the fungi. A small amount of salt can be added also if you wish but again not certain if this will help. Really we need some folk who have seen more to jump on and confirm. Please don't take what I said as gospel as I am not 100% certain. Good luck suvatti

Pimafix is for fungal problems & Melafix will heal the skin. I'd add 1 tbsp salt/10g, too.

ok i have some sea salt and the fine table stuff. I have just dosed with malafix after doing a 60% water change. I will add some salt now aswell. I have added a second large bubble stone. It says to do a 25% water change after 7 days so i will do that or a 50% in 7 days from now.

The puffer fish gills are slightly red today ive never seen this before.

I am currently treating birdy as well with pimafix and melafix. 3rd day and his white patch seems better. do note that u have to dose daily as per instruction. For me, I would do a large wc even up to 70% on the last day. would repeat treatment if necessary.

Regards the salt, I am not too sure abt the dosage. but I am certain only replace the proportional amt of salt that is removed during your wc, and not to add more.

I told you table salt, not sea salt. Is that what you use in your house?
1 tbsp/10g.
