To make T5's worth anything, they MUST have individual reflectors.

Yup I have a shed load of shop light reflectors so I make my own. The upvc will reflect more light than my black plastic crappy hood that I have ATM. Was meant to add earlier that reflectors would be added behind each lamp/ led
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

this doesnt answer you question but I have a 'bits and bobs' lid going on
Basically I'm a bit of a cheapskate so on my second hand tank I have half of the original lid and half acrylic sheet with the lid of a smaller tank placed on top cos it has a lighting unit in it
A used salt bucket is to become my tank for my snails (food) and the lid on that is the glass from a photocopier
I like to save my money for really important walrus and I also love problem solving.
